Patch 12.15 in TFT didn't change the meta that much and most strong compositions that were powerful in the previous patch remained as strong with a couple of exceptions. Here are the best compositions in the latest patch:
- 2 Revel, 2 Cannoneer
- 6 Ragewing, 4 Shapeshifter
- 6 Astral, 3 Mage
- 6 Mirage, 5 Cavalier
- 4 Evoker, 3 Astral
4 Tempest, 3 Mage
Key units: Ao Shin, Sylas, Ornn
Key items: B.F. Sword, Tear of the Goddess, Needlessly Large Rod
(aim to create Archangel's Staff, Spear of Shojin, and Hextech Gunblade)
Key augments: Mage Crown, Mage Conference
This composition focuses on building a strong economy early on and focusing on picking up the required items your carry later on which will be Ao Shin in most of your games. He has a devastating ability that can destroy entire boards with ease and so building towards him is your primary goal while also adding up traits to give him more time to unleash his ability.
The plan early on should be on just picking up the item components listed above and funnel them onto a low-cost unit that you encounter in the carousel or shop before you are able to access your higher-cost key units. The main tactic used is 'Fast 8' for this composition, with the aim to reach level 8 in early stage 4 to pick up the 4 and 5 cost units before your opponents and funnel your items onto them.
6 Ragewing, 4 Shapeshifter
Key units: Shyvana, Xayah
Key items: Sparring Gloves, B.F. Sword, Recurve Bow, Needlessly Large Rod (aim to create Guinsoo's Rageblade, Giant Slayer, and Quicksilver)
Key augments: Stand United, Cybernetic Implants
This composition gives you access to a powerful backline carry in Xayah and a strong frontline in Shyvana. Your main goal should be funneling items onto both of them to make them unstoppable.
During the carousel, try to pick up the required item components for Guinsoo which is your must-have item in this composition to enable Xayah. Afterward, start building the other core items while rolling for Shyvana. The main tactic used is 'Standard' for this composition, ensuring a healthy balance between levels and scouting for units to upgrade them to a higher tier.
6 Astral, 3 Mage
Key units: Aurelion Sol, Illaoi
Key items: Spatula, Needlessly Large Rod, Tear of the Goddess, B.F. Sword (aim to create Mage Emblem, Hextech Gunblade, and Archangel's Staff)
Key augments: Mage Crown, The Golden Egg
This composition is easy to pilot due to the Astral trait which allows you to level up the units quickly and dominate the board or at least go even with other powerful compositions until you pick up Aurelion Sol.
Your main priority with this composition is picking up Astrals and then starting rolling to level them up quickly to 3-stars. You should also pick up the required item components to prepare for Aurelion Sol when you encounter him since he is your primary carry in this composition. The main tactic used is 'Slow roll' for this composition, with the aim of rolling all excess gold to get 3-star units by level 7.
6 Mirage, 5 Cavalier
Key units: Daeja, Nunu
Key items: Negatron Cloak, Needlessly Large Rod, Recurve Bow, Sparring Gloves, Tear of the Goddess(aim to create Guinsoo's Rageblade, Giant Slayer and Archangel's Staf)
Key augments: Mirage Crest, Mirage Crown
This composition works out great with Daeja as the primary carry in the backline. He will devastate your opponent's board with the proper items while the opposing units will be busy dealing with your strong frontline in Nunu.
Aim to pick up the required item components to build Guinsoo's Rageblade and Quicksilver to empower your Daeja once you pick him up. Until then, use the items on any carry you encounter in your shop or the carousel. The main tactic used is 'Standard' for this composition, ensuring a healthy balance between levels and scouting for units to upgrade them to a higher tier.
9 Jade, 2 Evoker
Key units: Shi Oh Yu, Anivia
Key items: Giant Belt, Needlessly Large Rod, Tear of the Goddess, B.F. Sword (aim to create Spear of Shojin, Morellonomicon, and Archangel's Staff)
Key augments: Jade Crest, Jade Soul
This composition focuses on stacking Jade units to summon multiple powerful statues that will hold back the opposing frontline and give time to your units to dominate your opponents.
Aim to pick up the item components for your Anivia early on while picking up the low-cost units for your composition. She will carry the game if you evolve her and give her the key items. The main tactic used is 'Fast 8' for this composition, with the aim to reach level 8 in early stage 4 to pick up the 4 and 5 cost units before your opponents and funnel your items onto them.
